  1. In a great many places in Ireland they make creels which are made from sallies. In rugged places or bogs where carts are not able to travel these are used in bringing home turf.
    In many parts of Leitrim spinning and weaving is carried on in Cloone especially.
    In Croghan churns and tubs are made by a man named MacDermot also wheel making is carried on in Croghan. About two miles from Carrick on Shannon a man has a lime kiln and he supplies the town of Carrick on Shannon. Also there is a great deal of forge work carried on there.
