  1. There are many different cures for diseases. St Patrick's well which is two miles from Clonmel on the Marlfield road in County Tipperary is supposed to cure all diseases but especially bad eyesight or skin diseases. The juice of raw potatoes or turnips is very good for coughs. Potato juice and clean sugar is good for cuts or sores of any kind.
    The water in which potatoes are boiled is said to be very good for whitlows. The smell of the bog is good for the whooping cough and fox glove leaves mixed with lard is good for boils.
