  1. The old people in and around this neighbourhood practice many cures from herbs.
    Lots of cures are got from herbs, the juice of nettles is a cure for measles. They believe that the roots of dandelions boiled down is a cure for many stomach troubles.
    If ivy is steeped in vinegar, and put on a corn it helps to take them out. Sun spurge takes out warts.
    One of their cures for rheumatism is to boil the herb called yarrow and to drink the water from it, also to tie silk thread around a person's waist for backache.
