    The magpie is supposed to bring bad or good luck
    There are many versions of an old rhyme about seeing magpies here is one
    "One for sorrow
    two for mirth
    Three for a marriage
    Four for a birth"
    here is another
    "One for bad luck
    Two for good luck
    Three for a boy
    four for a girl
    five for silver
    six for gold
    seven for a secret which will never be told."
    Dressmakers or Tailors will not cut their cloth on a Monday.
