  1. Lock Street -: Long ago there lived in Carrick lock makers and they had their shops in Kickham Street hence this street is often called Lock Street.
    Mill Street - : Long ago there were a great number of corn mills and weaving mills there and hence it is called Mill Street.

  2. Thunderfoot Lane -: Thunderfoot Lane leads from Mill Street to the Tannery. It got its name because a battle was fought there long ago and the noise of the horses' legs going up and down during the battle was like thunder.
