  1. In olden times people used to have lucky and unlucky days.
They would not cut hair or anything on a Monday because they thought it was unlucky.
When people are going in to a new house they always go in on a Friday because they think Friday is the luckiest day. When people are going into a new house they never take in the cat with them because they say it is unlucky.
The Irish people used to say that if you broke a mirror you would get seven years bad luck.
