    Fifty years ago the townland contained about forty acres of woods. It not contains about two acres. It is the seat of Coalbrook Mansion, formerly the home of the Langley's and now occupied by Thomas Cantwell.
    When Colonel Langley received the land from Cromwell he built a mansion here and named it Coalbrook after Coalbrookdale the ancestral home of the family in Shropshire.
