was music and dancing heard in these forts.
There is a fort on each of the lands of Mr. Fitzgerald's and Mr. Croke of Gragaugh. These were people from Mohober Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary walking around the fort on the land of Mr. Croke. They saw a shinning quart under a bush. They took it out and it was full of golden hair. It was said to be put there by the fairies.

  2. There is only one fairy fort in my district. It is a square fort situated in Graigue, Modeshill, Co. Tipperary. There is a big dyke all round the fort, then there is a ditch and another big dyke and another ditch. There is a big round hole in the middle of the fort and it is told that there is gold hidden down in it. In that fort years ago people heard music and saw the fairies dancing.
One night as my father when he was a young boy was passing by the old church in Modeshill he saw fairies dancing in a field near it.
There is a ruin of an old house in Graigue which was owned by Johnny Mc Grath. One day as he was away from home a cat jumped up on the table and began to drink the milk. When Mrs Mc Grath saw the cat she hit her with the brush. The cat jumped off the table and as she ran out the door she said "Hard Times".
