  1. My father has a field called the "Árd glas" it runs alongside the Cork and Dublin road. Long ago it was owner by a protestant named Ellet who lived in South Lodge which is owned at present by Mr. Phelan. It is said that Ellet got his work men to dig up a graveyard and cart away the clay and spread it on the "Árd glas" for topdressing. A spring them appeared in the centre of the graveyard the hollow filled up with water and it is now known as the middle pond.
