townland. It is very high and trees are growing on top of it. It is surrounded by a pond. It is on the land of Mr. Heffernan. There are three old houses in my townland which were built with mud walls and thatched roofs. At the time they were built people were not able or could not afford to buy the means of quarrying stones. They were built in hollows or shady places as a protection against storms.
There are no fields with old Irish names on them in my townland.
