  1. There was a man called Clear living in Kilbury Cloneen one time. He used keep an army of soldiers always. He often brought out the soldiers in the night to plune the farmers' houses. The men took the Cappinagrane road one night to go plundering. On this road there were two small houses. They belonged to "John in the dike and John in the ditch as the owners were called. In one of these houses there were two young men who heard the soldiers were coming. They took their two guns from under the flag of the hearth. One of them stayed on the road and
