    the farmer got a scythe and put an edge on it. When Denis came out from his breakfast the farmer told him that the scythe was so edgey that it would cut itself. Denis went to the garden where the corn was growing and he left down the scythe expecting it to start cutting any minute because the farmer told him that it would cut itself. When the farmer came down to see how Denis was getting on. He only came to the field next to where Denis was and he shouted out to Denis over the ditch saying "how are you getting on". Denis said "Go away or it will cut you". When the farmer came out over the ditch he saw Denis sitting at the ditch and the scythe beside him.
