  1. 1. A good cure for rheumatism is to beat the patient all over the body with nettles for ten minutes each night for a week and take a hot bath with a lb of Epsoms salts each night after the nettle cure.
    2. A good old home cure for a stubborn cough is a brisk walk to the nearest spring well, drink a cup of water and then back to breakfast.
    3. Another home recipe for healthy lungs is to break an egg into a glass of water and swallow it without breaking the film.
    4. A very old cure for chest trouble in children is to beat up the white of an egg with two spoonfuls of vinegar an add three lumps of cane sugar. A tea spoonful to be given to a six months child and increase the dose according to age.
