  1. There was an old (schooh) school in Rosegreen. People by the name of ODonnell are living in it now. It was a small thatched school.
The masters name was Mr Thomas Lyod and his daughter Miss Kate Lyod was teaching with him.
The were living in the small house of Mr Keegans and the had the Post Office there. Thomas Lyod was native of Cashel and his wife was a native of Mocklershill and when they finished teaching they went to Australia.
There were 130 scholars going to school there. They were taught no Irish only Sums, Reading, and spelling, they were also taught French.
All their books cost only one shilling.
The masters wages was fifty pounds a year, and his daughters pay was ten pounds a year.
