  1. Flowers should never be picked on May Day.
    Hawthorn should not be brought into the house that day or some member of the household will die before twelve months.
    Holy water is sprinkled in a corner of every field.
    People skim the wells on that morning to take the butter off the cows for the year.
    People lock the cowhouse door on that night for if anyone milked a cow on May morning before the owner he'd destroy the milk for the year.
    Cows are put out for the Summer on May Day.
    After they are milked in the evening the Holy Water is sprinkled on them.
