The tinkers who usually visit this place are the Carty's, Delaneys, Reillys, Dwyers, and Hogans. The gypsies seldom come to the district when they do they sell lace (supposed to be made by themselves) camphor light tables made by the men and straw mats. The women speak with a grand accent wear bright clothes a scarf on their hand and tell fortunes if their hands are crossed with silver. They travel in horse drawn caravans and usually have a light back to back car for going selling their wares.
