    district. Some say it was made about 150 years ago. During the Famine, there was a footpath made along it from Cashel to Ballytarsna, four Irish miles as relief work. During the famine a hill was taken from the Ballinree road and put down to a hollow in a new road crossing from the Forge Cross in the main Dublin Road, to the Goff Plantation in Synone. This is called the Ballinree road.
    The pay for relief work was 5/- per week.
