    To make a whistle like this first a bit of an ash stick in which the sap is., is to be got. Then a bit is to be cut out of it like what is shown at A. Next a bit is to be cut like B. Then the skin is to be cut all round like C.The skin is then tipped around with the back of a penknife or some thing like it from C to the other end at A, taking care not to burst the skin.
