    Long ago there lived a family in a little thatched house. The man of the house dreamed that there were three crocks of gold under the hearth. He dreamt of it a second time, and again a third night. He said to his wife. "We will stay up to-night, when all the children are gone to bed and rip up the hearth, and if the gold is not there, we will fill up the hole quickly, and nobody will know anything about it.
