    Outside Thurles, near Killinan, there was a house built, the people said, on a path to a fort. The man who lived in this house was working after twelve o'clock one night when a big tall woman, walked in and asked for a drink of water. The man went to the pail but it was empty. The woman said "give me the pail and I will bring you a pail of water." After she had gone out the man heard a voice saying through the window "Throw out the feet water and remove the broom, from the left side of the fire and put it at the right side, and put out the light and go to bed as quickly as you can, and do not
