  1. Lore of Certain Days.
Saturday is an unlucky day to begin any kind of work that has to be continued, for example, to begin knitting a new stocking.
Friday, especially the first Friday of the month, is a lucky day for removal from an old house to an new one, but they should take special care to leave the cat behind them otherwise they'd have no luck in the new one. Their new neighbours when paying them their first visit must bring them some small present.
The first thirteen days of April are called "Reek Days". January began to kill the "old cow" February 'middled' it. March as to end it, but had to borrow thirteen days from April called "Reek Days" to finish it.
It is unlucky to eat pork stakes during any month that the letter 'R' is not in.
