One day a minister was giving a service in a Protestant Church.

One day a minister was giving a service in a Protestant Church. His sermon was on the subject of miracles. After the service a member of the congregation asked him if he could work a miracle. "Of course I could" he replied. He told the people to be all there the following Sunday and he would work a miracle.
Meantime he set to work and got a cook to bake a dozen buns. He then instructed a boy to put them in a bag, and take them to a little loft about the communion table which contained a trap-door. When the minister should say as he intended to do "I want buns from heaven" the boy was to throw down the buns through the trap-door. Well, on Sunday as he had planned, he said when the service was over "Send down the buns from heaven." The boy put down his head and said "The cat was in the bag, sir. and he has them all eaten."
