  1. There was a great flood in this district thirty years ago. It did a lot of harm. It came out on the land in the night time and the people had to swim in to get out their cattle and horses in the morning some of them were drowned. It came out very far on the land. The peoples stock were almost all drowned. The rain started on Monday morning and it stayed raining until Tuesday morning. It was a regular downpour during all the time.
