  1. Bill Donnely made a song about a minister who canted a neighbours ass to pay the tithes. Here is some of it.
    In the county Tipperary
In a place called Longford pass
    There lived on Thomas Grady
And he kept a statily ass
He was seized on by a heretic
    And canted for the tithes
On the hill of Fennor the ruffin lived
And his name was Billy Lloyd
    The fettered him across
And confined him in a manger
    Without hay or grass
    Relinquish Pope and Popery
And I will set you free
I will never deny till the day I die
    The banner of the cross
For I wear it on my shoulder
Although I am but an ass
This poet was a labouring man who lived about 1840.
