  1. The old people in Roscrea have very peculiar cures. They believe that if a person is taking fits and if the garment nearest the body is removed and burnt they will be cured. Another cure is to burn a hole in the floor after the fit has been taken.
    If a person has a toothache he should chew a piece of tobacco, roll it in a small piece of muslin and put it in his ear.
    A cure for warts is to make a sign of the cross with a straw
