  1. Long ago the old people used grease off the axle of a common car on the ring-worm to cure it.
    For a toothache they smoked a pipe to help to draw the water from the tooth and they used to stop the pain.
    For a wart they used to make the sign of the cross on the wart three times with a straw and then it was buried, and when the straw would rot the wart would be cured.
    They used bread soda for a cure for a burn.
    For whooping cough they gave a loaf of bread
