    Jer Grant.
    When highwaymen were numerous there dwelt near Moyne a highwayman named Jer Grant. After a few months of robbery he gave it up but another robber named Carroll Phelan urged him to continue to rob
    They robbed the rich and very often shared some of the loot with the poor and so made many friends.
    After their crime the police and soldiers would be scouting the country for them but the poor people always warned them of approaching danger. At last they decided to make a cave. They began their work near the place where the house of Mr. Sullivan of Derryvella now stands
