  1. My great grandfather's nephew was on the run. He heard the soldiers coming and he ran to hide in an old barn. The captain came into the yard, met the old uncle and offered £100 if he would tell him where his nephew was, and, says he, "No one will ever know it but you and me." Behind his back peeping out through a splay hole was the young man shaking his hand at his uncle.
