  1. About a quarter of a mile outside this place there is a fort called the black fort. It is in Cook's land.
    Often, when people are passing it, they look in and sometimes see a cat inside.
    One day a man tried to go in but when he was halfway in he heard a cry. It frightened him so much that he never went near it again.
    In the olden times when people had no houses, it is said they lived in forts.
