- There are three one at Reeska Cross, one at Foilnadragh and one at Foilacanna. They are modern institutions, the smiths possess neither charms nor cures that I know of and are just the ordinary type of country Blacksmith.
- There are no ancient trades. Candlemaking and even basket making are unknown. Spinning and weaving seem to have died out years and years ago and as the locality is not suitable for Sheep-rearing it is doubtful if it was ever practiced much here.
I have in my possession a candlestick evidently made by a blacksmith. It is about fourteen inches high, of plain iron with a holder for a tallow candle and for a greased rush.
