    Two of the same family must not marry on one day. It is very unlucky.

    A Woman must not be the first to enter another woman’s house on New Year’s Day. It is considered unlucky and even if she does enter it is believed to have evil intentions. Some men make arrangements the day before to go to neighbour’s house early in the morning to wish each other a Happy New Year and to make certain to be in before any woman arrives.
    Magpies and Red Haired woman are a sign of bad luck.
    Rats are a sign of bad luck and even when they visit a house are said to be forerunners of Death.
    A horse with two shadows in its eye is bound to kill somebody.
