  1. Long ago the people could not afford to buy flour so they used potato cakes instead. The ingredients that were used in making potato cakes were:- broken potatoes, butter, a pinch of salt and sour milk.
    The farmers round Glenpadden still sow their own wheat and get their own flour made.
    In olden days people used queens. There was a quern at Patrick Ryan’s of Lossettt. He lived where Denis Tracy lives now.
