- There was gold supposed to be hidden in a wood in Leaca an Chiúm.
It is said that there are two pots of gold hidden there, and that there is something in the shape of a devil guarding it.
There were lights of all kinds seen around the place at night.one night two men went to look for the gold an animal like a bull came rushing towards them, and they had to fly for their lives.
another night they went again and took a bottle of holy water with them, and they shook it around the place, and they found the treasure.

- Long ago people made bread from whole-meal. They not take the pollard from the wheat.
Bread was baked in griddles and turf was used for baking it. There used be a cross on the cake, so that it would not swell too much.
