  1. There is an old house in Ballydough. Long ago it belonged to a man named John Cahill. But there is an old woman living in it now. Her name is Maggie Sherry.
    It is made of mud and stones and a thatched roof, and one chimney on the end of it.
    She keeps her hens in the kitchen with her.
    There is a half door in it and over the half door there is a hen roost. It has no window and the chimney is made of mud and sticks.
