  1. There was a shoemaker living in Kilcommon. His name was John Brennan. He made clogs and charged nine shillings for each pair.

    It is said that feet water should not be thrown out after night fall, unless it is thrown into a stream. The old people used say, if water was thrown out after night fall, it would fall on the souls in Purgatory.
