Foilmacaduff gets its name from a black pig which roamed in the townland some time ago. She slept one night between Shanahan's and McHugh's.
She roamed from Foilmacduff until she came to Clonmel. Here she rolled in a pond where the print of her can be seen. One morning there was a number of children going to school and they saw the black pig with ten bonhams at each side of her.
She was hunted out of Clonmel and was killed with no little difficulty in Wexford by numbers of men, dogs and spears.
