1st. Verse All ye who seek pleasure through Ireland
Do not spend your money too free,
In Youghal, Tramore or Dungarvan, Lisdoonvarna, Lahindh or Kilkee.
But you will find some enjoyment by coming,
And for fear that you might go astray,
When you land in Tipperary enquire for
The road between Newport and Rear.
2nd. Verse
'Tis there you'll find good-living farmers,
With hospitality flowing at their doors.
The same with their wives and their daughters,
Who supply to the wants of the poor.
The stranger no matter how weary,
If he happens to pass by the way,
He won't be left thirsty or hungry
on the road between Newport and Rear.
3rd. Verse
When you pass the white walls up the mountains,
You'll come to the old copper mine,
And when you proceed a little further, you'll find yourself in Tourienbrien.
There you can put up at a tavern,
