you will not get a cold.
A special effort is made to get to a spring well first on May morning and to get a drink out of it.
It is unlucky to let milk, salt, butter or fire out of the house on May Eve except you are selling it.
On May Eve a newly cut bush is set before the door. It is decorated with wild violets and cowslips. It is called The May Bush. It is put there to welcome the first month of Summer. A bush is burned and each animal is to be hit with it.
