    Christmas Day. A boiled goose was the usual dinner. Every other day they would only have potatoes and sour milk. In this parish the people do not go visiting their friends on Christmas Day. It is considered bad form. On Christmas night a big candle is lighted.
    St. Stephen's Day
    On St. Stephen's Day the Wren Boys go around from house to house. They are disguised with eye fiddles and old and curious clothes. They carry a holly bush and sing and dance outside the doors. They get money from the people of the house. The sing first
