    stone also cured warts.
    (f) Cut a hole in a turnip and fill it with salt. Bathe the warts in the dissolved salt once a day.
    (g) Count the warts and get an alder stick for each one and bury the sticks. According as the sticks are rotting the warts are disappearing.
    (h) Rub the joint of a straw to the warts twice in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. Bury the straw and according as the straw rots, the warts disappear.
    Swellings
    (a) A poultice made from the yellow clay found in a river.
    (b) A poultice of cowdung was applied. When the poultice was taken off it was white as snow.
    (c) A poultice of a boiled turnip was also used. This was also used for boils and whitlows.
