    Warts
    (a) Warts were cured by putting a black snail on a white-thorn bush and when the snail died, the warts would be gone.
    (b) Get a paper bag and count how many warts you have. Put in as many stones as warts and write on the paper bag, 'Salt' or 'Pepper'. Anyone that passes it and picks it up will take the warts
    (c) Go into a neighbour's house and steal a bit of fat bacon. Rub it on the warts and bury it. According as it is decaying the warts will be disappearing.
    (d) Go into a forge and unknown to the smith bathe the warts in the water which the smith cools the irons. this was also supposed to cure chillblains
    (e) water found in the hollow of a tree or in a hollow
