  1. A priest named Father O'Brien got
ill on Sunday morning and was
unable to say Mass. He sent his
sexton to the Church to make the
    following announcements.
Father O'Brien is sick but it will
be no sin on their part to miss Mass.
Next Friday is the first Friday of
the month and confessions will be
heard as usual on Thursday. Tuesday
will be the feast of SS. Peter and Paul.
    On Wednesday John Clancy and
Mary McHale will be married in
    this Church and anyone having
    objections please make them before
that day. The Pope's collection will
be taken up on Sunday next. A small
parcel has been found - owner can
have same by calling at the sacristy.
The sexton said "Alright Father" and went
to the altar and spoke as follows:- "Father O'Brien is sick and that's
no sin. Next Thursday will be the First Friday of the month. Tuesday
will be the feast of John Clancy and Mary McHale. On Wednesday
SS. Peter and Paul will be married in this Church and anyone
having objections will find them rolled up in a parcel by calling at
the sacristy. The Pope will be here next Sunday to take up his collection"
