  1. Once upon a time an Irishman an Englishman and a Scotsman committed a very bad crime. They were taken before a judge who sentenced them to be hanged. They were told that they could be hanged out of whatever sort of a tree they liked. The Englishman said he would like to be hanged out of an oak tree. The Scotsman said he would like to be hanged out of a sycamore tree. They asked Paddy which he would prefer. He said he would like to be hanged out of a gooseberry tree. The judge said that this would be too small. "Well" said Paddy, "we can wait until it grows".
