  1. There is an elevated spot of ground in Loughisle refered to as "The Mass Rock", and it is believed that Mass used to be said here by hunted priests during the Penal Days & later. There is a chalice carved on the Rock & some say a figure of The Blessed Virgin. There is not any account of a Mass Path around the hills. Loughisle is about 1/2 mile north of Kilcommon, Thurles.
