  1. The local tradition concerning the above is that Sarsfield remained in hiding in Glenculoo till the siege train passed by. From there he followed it on being shaded by the hills of Failldubh, Shanagorth, Coumnagella & Kilcommon. In Shanagorth he reversed the shoes on the latter part of his cavalry to give the impression to the English that he had returned to Limerick, while in reality he had gone on to Ballyneety.
