  1. There is a well in Ballyhogan called "tobar well." Tobar is the Irish word for well. The old people say that is how it got its name.
    Kildangan is the townland where I live. Cill is church. It is said that a chapel was built long ago in Mr Kelly's field in Kildangan. It is still called the chapel field.
    Riverview is also in my district. There is a house there. It is called Riverview house. The house is in view of a river, and that is how the place got its name.
    There are fields in Riverview known by the names of Sally Quinn's, the big meadow, the Orchard, the Slate House and the wire meadow.
    There are three fields in Miss McGraths of Kildangan known as the Gor (?), Biddy Carroll's and the pea field.
    The road going from Finn's cross to Knigh is called Túr-i-an. It is not
