    (b) A young girl from Co. Galway came to St. Augh's well to perform the rounds. This girl was suffering from partial blindness, but she went home cured of her ailment after having piously gone through all the religious exercises required.

    (c) The eye-well was covered in by a Protestant minister some seventy years ago. The well changed its situation and sprung up nearer to the Shannon, where we see it at present. Formerly, it was beside an ash tree in the same field.
