  1. About a hundred years ago there was a beautiful mansion in a lonley part of the county Tipperary. And after the owners left it nobody would live in it because it was haunted. It happened one snowy night that a tramp was passing by it and he saw that one of the windows was open, and taking a bundle of hay from a field near by he made his bed in one of the rooms, never knowing noting about the mansion. He slept peacefully until midnight 'til some noise awoke him. On looking around he was frightened to find the room lit up, and men and women feasting at a table. And close to him he saw what appeared to him to be the master of the house shaving at a mirror. He was afraid they might see him and his hay bed, so he crouched up as well as he could until as he thought they went out of the room. He went to sleep after that til morning. He left in the morning and as it was snowy, he went into a nearby cottage for a cup of tea. The morning being bad the woman of the house asked him did he sleep out through the night and he said "no" that he slept in the mansion
