Legend connected with Abington Abbey Co Limerick
When the Monks left Abington Abbey they promised a holy woman there that she would always hear Mass in the Abbey even when tehy were gone. She didn't believe that this could happen but she said that sh'd see. So the the next Sunday she went up to the Abbey and knelt down to say her prayers. She heard Mass going on, on the Alter and she heard the bell ringing at the elevation and when Mass was over she went home. She did that every Sunday until she died and Mass was said for her there always.
