  1. 1/ If a horse got a prop[?] of a nail put cow manure to it and it would cure it.
2/ If a horse had a sore back put dry lime to it and it would cure it.
3/ If a horse had sand cracks put tar on the hoofs and it would cure it.
4/ When horses fall and cut their knees they are considered of little value and little price would be got for them at a fair. It was easy to know when they fall because where the cut healed the hair never grew. The old people found out that the application of poultices of goose manure caused the hair to grow again and the mark was not noticeable and it was easy for the man to sell the horse.
